James is a senior Human Resources professional and consultant, who specialises in Employee Relations, Employment Law and Organisational Development. James is a member of DWC’s HR Consulting Division, who’s client base is mainly in the public and charitable sectors.

During his 20-year career, James has worked in both the public and private sectors and has held a number of senior HR roles, most recently as Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development for the Children and Family Courts Advisory and Support Service (Cafcass) – anon-departmental public body and the largest employer of qualified social workers in England, whose duty is to safeguard and promote the welfare of children going through the family justice system.  

In this role, James supported the Cafcass Board and Senior Leadership Team and also worked closely with key stakeholders at both the Department of Education and Ministry of Justice (Cafcass’ respective Central Government sponsor departments during his tenure).  James was responsible for a geographically dispersed team of 45 HR and OD specialists, delivering a multi-award winning national HR service that supported a workforce of more than 2000 staff and managers, across the full range of operational and strategic HR specialisms.

James holds an MA in Human Resources Management and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.  He is a qualified and accredited workplace investigator and a fervent advocate of alternative dispute resolution methods in resolving workplace conflict.
